Carl began his career in 1986, fabricating racking while still in high school in Pearland, TX. During that time, he frequently interacted with Don Russell, who would come in to pick up racking for his installation projects. After graduating, Carl went out on his own, fabricating pipe fences and finding success in that venture. In 1988, Don approached him with an offer to design, fabricate, and install a mezzanine for a customer. Although initially uninterested, Carl agreed after Don assured him it would only take two weeks, allowing him to return to his own business afterward. 36 years later, Carl is still wondering when that “two-week job” will be finished.
Throughout his career, Carl has traveled across the U.S., completing jobs alongside Don and continuing even after Don stopped traveling. In 2000, Carl transitioned into the role of Installation Manager and Sales, where he could manage operations from the main office. His ability to balance sales, manage crews, and leverage his extensive experience has since led him to become the Director of Operations.
Carl has been married for nearly 20 years and enjoys hunting and traveling with his wife and their two boys. An avid pitmaster, he has competed in numerous BBQ cook-off competitions and spent nine years coaching his youngest son’s baseball teams.
